The Bake Shop
at Skyline Drive Orchard
The owner of the Bake Shop at Skyline Drive Orchard was taking over an existing bakery but he wanted to make it his own. There are a variety of fruit trees on the orchard so he wanted to convey the fresh fruit that would be used in his baked goods. The apple tree set the tone for everything by allowing the red apples to pop against the black and white engraving. The bold fonts convey the new direction the bakery is taking, while the flourishes reinforce the special little touches he is bringing to traditional offerings. In addition to baked goods, the Bake Shop sells a variety of local artisanal foods and handmade crafts.
Holy Family University Branding
Working at the University for over a decade, I experienced many challenges. Maintaining a consistent look across a multitude of projects was essential. From billboards on I-95 to Financial Aid booklets to smaller brochures being mailed out, they all had to look like they were from the same family…Holy Family. We developed the branding to reflect a strong, modern look, which included a bright color palette and a variety of background patterns to give pieces a little extra depth.

Play-based learning is the foundation of the Cooperative Nursery School. The students are encouraged to discover and learn outside on the playground or at the creek that runs through the school’s property. I redesigned their logo and rebranded their materials. I introduced a color palette that was kid-friendly while also being picked from the natural elements found around the school.

I’ve created logos for so many different products and organizations it’s hard to keep track of them all. Anybody can create a logo, instead I prefer to make concept-driven logos whenever possible. That’s the real trick, creating a logo that tells the story behind the company at first glance. I prefer to use my brain and conceive smart logos.
